For Seattle theatres

A social path into theatre.

Hot Ticket is building a welcoming social club for women who want to make theatre part of their lives. We’re exploring how going together can make theatre feel more approachable for people who may not know what to see, what to expect, or who to go with—and how that community could support Seattle theatres’ audience-development work.

Breaking down barriers

Make theatre easier to enter, together.

A welcoming group can offer a social reason to show up: discover a show, meet people to share it with, and feel that theatre is for you.

Hot Ticket’s aim is to make the experience feel more approachable for women who are new to attending, while building a sense of belonging around a shared night out. Founding members will help choose the shows we explore.

Possibilities to explore

An audience-development conversation.

Ideas include group attendance around a show, a welcoming moment to gather before it, and optional ways to hear from guests afterward. These could give theatres a chance to connect with potential new audiences and learn about their interests and experience. Any collaboration would be planned with the theatre and shaped to fit the production.

A welcoming night out for women can also be a starting point for theatres to learn what helps new audiences feel at home.

Hot Ticket is at the beginning of this work. No theatre partnerships or dates have been announced.
